Picasso Portraits - Cubism Style

Bear Paw Studio - Betsy Bear Creations
Art Mini-Camp - June 4 - 7, 2012
Day 3

Pablo Picasso was our subject today, with the focus mainly on his portraits and cubism.  We used chalk pastels to create our portraits, and ended up with gloriously fancy versions of ourselves with big eyes, wild clothes and hair, and of course, big shapes and bold colors everywhere.

A special sugar cookie treat from Gretchen's mother started our fun off, and I've included them as a label for each artist's work.  I wonder who bit into their cookie first?  Hmmm . . . .who could it be ?

Aha!  The mystery is solved!

And, so, that ends our Picasso journey for today.  We will definitely be back to visit with his art again, after all the fun and success we had today making our beautiful self-portraits!

Last lesson for this time:  The great Van Gogh!
